Technical background
Section titled “Technical background”PreconditionFailedError comes from the expect: option of update(). A
lifecycle transition declared that a field must still hold a given value (for example
“only from status Active”), and the freshly read row no longer matches. details
carries entityId and the field that differs.
It is separate from version_conflict: that one
guards the stream version, this one guards a business field. Re-check the entity’s
current state before retrying.
