Technical background
Section titled “Technical background”MemberReadTimeoutError (HTTP 504) fires when a read through
ctx.dispatch.queryAsMember runs into its statement timeout (Postgres SQLSTATE
57014). The message names the configured timeout in milliseconds. It uses
the generic errors.internal text because the user can do nothing but
retry; the separate code exists so logs and alerts can route it.
Repeated timeouts point at a slow query in the member-resolution path: check the indexes of the tables that query reads, or narrow the query.
